Audition Requirements
Each audition will be split into 3 parts: scales, excerpt, and solo piece. Choose the scale/excerpt from below that you feel best represents your ability. It's okay to challenge yourself! To be considered for NUYS you must at minimum play the level 2 scales/excerpt.

Scales
Level 1: Any one octave major scale.
Level 2: Any two octave major scale,
any one octave melodic minor scale
Level 3: 3 Octave Chromatic Scale Low E to High F (or full range)
Any one octave major scale with its relative harmonic minor and melodic minor scale
Excerpt
These excerpts are supposed to be challenging, so just do the best you can. These excerpts will not make or break your audition! Tempos are listed, but not required.

Solo
Prepare a one minute (or slightly less) excerpt of a prepared solo, etude, or orchestral excerpt of your choice. If you don't have a solo, reach out to us for resources. Please choose something that really shows off your skills.
