Audition Requirements
Each audition will be split into 3 parts: scales, excerpt, and solo piece. Choose the scale/excerpt from below that you feel best represents your ability. It's okay to challenge yourself! To be considered for NUYS you must at minimum play the level 2 scales/excerpt.

Scales
Level 1: One octave scale of your choice
Level 2: Two octave major scale,
One octave melodic minor scale
Level 3: Three octave major scale,
Two octave melodic minor scale

Excerpt
These excerpts are supposed to be challenging, so just do the best you can. These excerpts will not make or break your audition! Tempos are listed but not required. (For Level 3, choose only one excerpt.)

Solo
Prepare a one minute (or slightly less) excerpt of a prepared solo, etude, or orchestral excerpt of your choice. If you don't have a solo, reach out to us for resources. Please choose something that really shows off your skills.
