Audition Workshop

We will not be holding another Audition Workshop this year. The purpose of auditions is to prepare our musicians for the challenges of the music we will be playing during the year. We encourage you to watch last year's workshop, the videos are posted on YouTube. Click here for the main video. Be sure to see "Show More" below the video for a clickable timeline of the evening. Click here for the video from our brass specialist in the breakout class.

To prepare for your NUYS audition:

Click here to fill out our membership form:
We require all returning and prospective members to fill out our membership form before auditioning, whether on August 24, by appointment, or uploaded video or audio recording.
How to Audition:
After submitting the membership form, you may sign up for an audition time on our spreadsheet, - we really prefer you come in person.
If you can not come in person, contact us for an audition appointment, or make a video or audio recording of yourself, and submit your 5 minutes-or-less unedited video or recording by uploading it to YouTube, Google Drive, One Drive, Dropbox or some other linkable place in the cloud, then submit the link to us using this form, as soon as possible, even if it's after the audition date.
Important Note:
Some schools don't start until after the audition date! Students who did not hear about the auditions soon enough are encouraged to contact us and audition! We will not exclude you for missing the audition date.
